EMA Backs First Combined COVID-19 and Flu Vaccine
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has recommended granting marketing authorization for mCombriax, the first combined mRNA vaccine in the EU designed to protect against both COVID-19 and seasonal influenza. Developed for adults aged 50 and older, the vaccine aims to simplify immunization schedules by providing dual protection in a single injection. The recommendation follows a comprehensive scientific evaluation of the vaccine's safety and effectiveness. Final approval by the European Commission is expected shortly, enabling its inclusion in upcoming national vaccination campaigns.
