EBA: Shortening Own Funds Reduction Timing
The EBA published final draft amendments to Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) concerning own funds and eligible liabilities instruments. These amendments shorten the timeframe for applying for prior permission to reduce these instruments. The changes aim to improve the efficiency of capital management for banks and resolution authorities. The RTS will now be submitted to the European Commission for endorsement. This allows quicker responses to market conditions.
