François-Louis Michaud New Chair of European Banking Authority
François-Louis Michaud will assume the role of Chair of the European Banking Authority (EBA) effective April 16, 2026. The Council of the European Union formally appointed Michaud. As Chair, he will lead the EBA in its mission to ensure effective and consistent prudential regulation and supervision across the European banking sector. This leadership change comes at a time when the EBA is focused on addressing geopolitical pressures and rising risks in private finance.
