A significant multi-country study has advanced Europe's genomic surveillance of carbapenem- and/or colistin-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CCRE), a critical step in combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) highlights this as the most comprehensive genomic picture to date. This research provides essential data for public health authorities to track and control the spread of these dangerous bacteria. Efforts will continue to strengthen Europe's response to AMR, protecting citizens' health.
