EIB Funds Cancer Treatment Innovation with €125M
The European Investment Bank (EIB) has granted a €125 million loan to French company Orano to develop its medical subsidiary, Orano Med. The funding will support innovations and industrial infrastructure for producing targeted alpha therapies to fight cancer. This therapy uses rare isotopes to destroy cancer cells while limiting the impact on healthy tissue. The EIB investment aims to strengthen Europe's position in the strategic sector of nuclear medicine and advanced cancer treatments, supporting the EU's industrial policy.
