EU Agency Busts Multimillion-Euro Cigarette Ring
The European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) has helped dismantle two international criminal organisations involved in a multimillion-euro illicit cigarette supply chain. The operation, based in Spain, targeted the manufacturing, distribution, and trafficking of counterfeit tobacco products. OLAF provided intelligence and coordination that was crucial for the success of the raids conducted by national law enforcement. The bust prevents significant losses in customs duties and taxes for the EU and its Member States.
