EU Funds Czech Water Upgrades Under Just Transition
The European Union is supporting a major water infrastructure project in the Czech Ústí nad Labem Region with a €14 million grant and a €56 million European Investment Bank (EIB) loan. The funding is provided through the Just Transition Mechanism, a key pillar of the European Green Deal. The investment aims to enhance water management systems in a region historically dependent on coal mining. This project demonstrates the EU's commitment to ensuring that the transition to a climate-neutral economy is fair and leaves no region behind.
