EU to Draft Rules on Data Protection & Competition Law
The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) and the European Commission are jointly developing new guidelines on the interplay between data protection (GDPR) and competition law. This initiative aims to clarify how companies, particularly in the tech sector, can use personal data while complying with both sets of rules. The authorities are organising a stakeholder event to gather input for the guidelines, which will shape future enforcement actions. The move signals increasing regulatory coordination to address challenges posed by dominant digital platforms.
