Directive on corporate sustainability due diligence enters into force

On 25 July 2024, the Directive on corporate sustainability due diligence (Directive 2024/1760) officially entered into force. This landmark EU policy aims to foster sustainable and responsible corporate behavior by requiring companies to identify and address adverse human rights and environmental impacts in their value chains. The Directive is a crucial step towards a just transition to a sustainable economy, holding businesses accountable for their social and environmental footprint. Member States now have a specified period to transpose this Directive into national law.

Companies now legally required to assess human rights & environmental impacts in supply chains.
