EU Adopts Standard Form for Data Breach Notifications
The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) has adopted a common notification template for data breaches. This standardized form will be used by companies and organisations across the EU to report breaches to their national data protection authorities under the GDPR. The goal is to streamline the reporting process, ensure consistency, and make it easier for authorities to assess the risks associated with a breach. The EDPB developed the template to improve the efficiency and clarity of data breach handling throughout the Union.
Reporting data breaches to authorities will become more standardized across the EU.
