EU & Egypt Partner on €690M Clean Energy Grid
The European Union and Egypt are deepening their energy partnership with a new €690 million financing deal to upgrade the Egyptian electricity grid. Spearheaded by the European Investment Bank (EIB), the investment aims to accelerate the integration of renewable energy sources into the national grid. This project supports the EU's Global Gateway strategy by fostering clean energy transitions and enhancing energy security in key partner countries. The upgrade is expected to create a more stable and efficient energy supply, facilitating further development of green power in the region.
