EU Funds Boost Green Transition in Joensuu, Finland
The city of Joensuu in Finland will receive a €120 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) and an €18 million EU grant to support its green transition. The financing, under the Just Transition Mechanism, will fund sustainable urban development projects. This initiative aims to help the region, which is moving away from its reliance on the peat industry, create new green jobs and improve public infrastructure.
