EBA Updates Rules for EU Bank Supervision
The European Banking Authority (EBA) has published final revised guidelines for the Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process (SREP), a core part of EU bank supervision. The update aims to make supervision more efficient and consistent across the Union, particularly for smaller banks. The new rules formally integrate the assessment of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks and enhance scrutiny of banks' internal governance. National supervisors are expected to apply these revised guidelines from the beginning of 2027.
Your bank will be supervised under revised EU rules, enhancing consistency and addressing ESG risks.
