Europol Tackles Drug-Facilitated Sexual Assaults
In a first-of-its-kind operation, Europol has coordinated an effort identifying 156 individuals suspected of involvement in drug-facilitated sexual assaults. The operation brought together 29 investigators at the UK's National Crime Agency headquarters to share intelligence and collaborate on cases. They focused on identifying perpetrators, victims, and misogynistic online groups that facilitate these crimes. Europol stated this joint action marks a significant step in developing a common European approach to combating this severe form of gender-based violence.
