ECB Unveils New Euro Banknote Designs for Public Survey
The European Central Bank (ECB) has revealed the shortlisted design themes for the next generation of euro banknotes and is inviting the public to participate in a survey. The proposed themes include 'European culture,' 'Rivers: the waters of life in Europe,' and 'Birds: free, resilient, inspiring.' This initiative is part of a redesign process to enhance the security and sustainability of the currency. Following the public consultation and input from the Governing Council, the final decision on the new theme will be made in 2027.
