EIB & Spain Fund €870M Upgrade for Electricity Grids
The European Investment Bank (EIB) and Spain's Ministry of Economy are jointly providing €870 million in financing to energy company Naturgy. The funds are earmarked for a major project to modernise, reinforce, and digitalise electricity distribution grids across Spain. This investment aims to improve energy efficiency, enhance the grid's capacity to handle renewable energy sources, and increase its resilience against climate-related events. The project is expected to benefit millions of consumers by ensuring a more stable and modern electricity supply.
