EIB & Eni Finance Biorefinery in Italy
The European Investment Bank (EIB) and Eni have signed a €500 million loan agreement to convert units of Eni’s refinery in Sannazzaro de’ Burgondi, Italy, into a biorefinery. This 15-year loan supports the production of biofuels from waste and residue, promoting sustainable transportation. The project is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and contribute to the EU's renewable energy targets.
