EU banks on track to meet stability targets

The Single Resolution Board (SRB) has confirmed that European banks are continuing to build up their financial buffers as required by post-crisis rules. In its latest dashboard, the SRB reports that banks are meeting their targets for Minimum Requirement for own funds and Eligible Liabilities (MREL). This means they have sufficient resources to absorb losses and be resolved in an orderly manner without relying on taxpayer money in case of failure. The progress is a positive sign for the overall stability of the EU banking system.

EU banks are more financially resilient, reducing the risk of a taxpayer-funded bailout.
