EESC Urges Stronger EU-Wide Wildfire Prevention Strategy

The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is calling for a more robust and unified EU strategy to prevent the increasing threat of wildfires. Citing the devastating impact of recent fire seasons, the EESC recommends focusing on proactive land management, better cross-border cooperation, and more investment in prevention technologies. The advisory body argues that a reactive, control-focused approach is no longer sufficient to protect citizens and ecosystems. This opinion will be presented to the European Commission and Parliament to influence future environmental policy.
